The Govt. College of Engineering Kannur was established in 1986 as a centre for imparting quality engineering education in northern Kerala. A tour through this site gives you a first hand experience of life in the campus and what makes the institute one of the premier engineering colleges in south India.
The present campus of the college is located at Mangattuparamba, 15 km from Kannur Railway station on the national highway 17. The foundation stone of the college main building was laid by Sri.K.Karunakaran, the then chief minister of Kerala.
Various cultural and sports activities among its members and charity initiatives locally and back to the college level are successfully organized. Various family gatherings are arranged on special occasions like Onam, Eid etc. apart from the grand annual family get-togethers.
The key objective is to provide required assistance morally and/or financially to its members and their loved ones on the instance of any emergency crisis. The other important objective is to extend its helping hands towards the college by providing necessary assistance to the financially backward students. With these objectives in mind KEE has formed a forum called KEE Cares, which will manage all its charity and help desk activities.
KEE is very keen to provide career advices and awareness of available vacancies to its members from time to time and thus all are benefited by the alumni to fulfill their career dreams quickly and effectively. The fresh graduates are automatically becomes a member of the alumni once they enter on visit or residence permits to the UAE.
Government College of Engineering, Kannur (GCEK) is a state-sponsored engineering college affiliated to Kannur University, Kerala, India. The Government College of Engineering, Kannur was started in October 1986, as a center for imparting quality Engineering education in northern Kerala. From its modest beginnings, the college has now grown into a sprawling 75-acre campus, and today. enjoys an enviable reputation among the Engineering colleges of South India. The college is situated just off National Highway NH17, around 15 km north from the district headquarters, Kannur.
